Certifications

Cardinal/Detecto’s goal is to make the best scales in the world and the ISO process helps us do just that.

ISO certification is an ongoing process by which Cardinal/Detecto improves and monitors the design and production of their weighing systems, measures quality and places a priority on the elimination of excess motions to consistently produce a better product.

What does VCAP certification mean?

The Verified Conformity Assessment Program (VCAP) is a program that was developed by the National Conference on Weights and Measures to verify that load cells, weight indicators, and load receivers produced by a manufacturer meet the same environmental influence factor standards as the actual products evaluated under the National Type Evaluation Program. Compliance with the VCAP ensures the purchaser of the load cell, weight indicator, or load receiver that the product has been produced under an audited quality management system and has been tested to verify its compliance with the environmental requirements listed in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Handbook 44. Periodic third party audits confirm that the quality management system remains compliant.

“VCAP certification assures our customers that Cardinal Scale has taken the steps necessary to ensure that Cardinal load cells, weight indicators, and load receivers, like our other products, are manufactured under strict quality standards and are representative of the products that were evaluated under the National Type Evaluation Program,” said Matthew Stovern, president of Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company. “VCAP certification is absolutely necessary if you’re to remain a quality motivated manufacturer.”
